21st Spirituality Forum: “Spirituality in a Synodal Church”
The 21st Spirituality Forum was held last August 3-5, 2022 through blended (Face-to-Face and via Zoom) encounter. The theme was “Spirituality in a Synodal Church”. The topics and speakers were:
First day (August 3): 1) “Communion: Listening Church Journeying with the People” with Br. Carlito “Karl” Gaspar, CSsR, Ph.D. (St. Alphonsus Theological and Mission Institute, Davao City), Fr. Ramon Echica, Ph.D., S.Th.D (Dean of Studies, Seminario Mayor de San Carlos) as conversationalist and Ms. Jessica Joy Candelario, Ph.D. (Pastoral Coordinator, CICM Bukal ng Tipan Center) as Reflectionist; 2) “Communion: The Roles and Tasks of Women in a Listening Church” with Sr. Ma. Anicia B. Co, RVM, Ph.D. (IAAB Member/In-charge, RVM Overseas Mission and Special Ministry) as Resource Speaker, Ms. Rachel Joy Marie Sanchez, Ph.D. (Faculty Member, Ateneo de Manila University) as Conversationalist and Sr. Anne -Marie Bos, O.Carm., Ph.D. (Titus Brandsma Institute, Nijmegen, The Netherlands)as Reflectionist.
Second day (August 4): 1) “Participation: Discerning Church as a People of God” with Fr. Victor Sadaya, CMF, Ph.D. (General Manager, Radio Veritas Asia) as Resource Speaker, Fr. Rolando de la Rosa, O.P., S.Th.D. (Conventual Councilor, Sto. Domingo Convent) Prof. Alfredo P. Co, Ph.D. (IAAB Member/Professor Emeritus, University of Santo Tomas Manila) as Conversationalist and as Reflectionist; 2) “Participation: Lay Vocation and Mission in the Church” with Ms. Estela Padilla, Ph.D. (Executive Secretary, Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conference) as Resource Speaker, Mr. Ronel Dela Cruz, Ph.D. (Head of Research, St. Paul Quezon City)as Conversationalist and Prof. Pablito Baybado, Ph.D. (Institute of Religion, University of Santo Tomas Manila)as Reflectionist.
Third day (August 5): 1) “Mission: Living Church in the World” with Fr. Rene Cabag, CICM, Lic.Soc.Sci. (Administrative Officer/Professor, Maryhill School of Theology) as Resource Speaker, Assoc. Prof. Chito Sawit, Ph.D. (Academic Collaboration Officer – UST Ecclesiastical Faculties) as Conversationalist and Br. Carlito “Karl” Gaspar, CSsR, Ph.D. (St. Alphonsus Theological and Mission Institute, Davao City) as Reflectionist; 2) “Mission: The Challenges of Mission of the Living Church in the World Today” with Fr. Chrismar Daguno, Ph.D. (Professor of Mission and Theology, San Carlos Seminary as Resource Speaker, Msgr. Esteban Lo, LRMS (National Director, Pontifical Mission Societies) as Conversationalist and Fr. Noel Rosas, O.Carm., L.Miss. (Rector, St. Elijah Carmelite Student Friary) as Reflectionist.
There were One hundred and 69 (169) participants who attended in this blended seminar coming from different congregations and organizations.
