To celebrate World Interfaith Harmony Week, the Institute of Spirituality in Asia (ISA) joined the breakfast meeting hosted by His Eminence Cardinal Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle on February 3, 2020 at the Arzobispado de Manila.

The Cardinal continues to be an honorary member of its Board of Trustees (BOT) since the beginning until now.

At the breakfast meeting, ISA joined diplomatic dignitaries, religious leaders, peace advocates and officials of faith-based organizations and of interfaith groups.

In his message, Cardinal Tagle pointed out his role at the breakfast meeting – host and guest – as well as the role of the Lord in everyone’s life. He also emphasized the need for peace among various religious groups and encouraged them to work in harmony with each other.

The participants felt sad, knowing that they were attending the last breakfast meeting with the Cardinal, who was due to leave for Rome to head the Vatican’s office on evangelization.

After the event, Cardinal Tagle received some of our latest publications from the ISA delegates headed by Board of Trustees (BOT) member Sr. Flor Duran, Carm.O.L; and Executive Director Fr. Rico Ponce, O.Carm.

ISA staff members Sr. Corazon Untal, Carm. O.L., Ms. Joy Kialkial and Dr. Carmen Alviar were also in attendance.

At an earlier interfaith forum also at the Arzobispado, ISA presented the Cardinal a copy of the “Spirituality of Peace-Work” issue (Volume 4) of Living Flame, A Journal of Interdisciplinary Discourse in Spirituality which anthologized the papers read at the 2018 Summer Course on Asian Spirituality.
